Research Experience

Stevens Institute of Technology
June 2014 – Current

  • Studying the computational principles behind neuromorphic computing.
  • Developing mathematical models to help determine what processes are necessary for computational and which are biologically necessary.
  • Working with GPU computing to increase the speed of numerical methods simulating large network models.
  • Current work includes computational implications of specific cells in the hippocampal formation; Speed, Grid, and Place cells to the internally computed model of the environment an animal maintains.

Stevens Institute of Technology

  • Worked as part of a team to develop Financial Engineering Virtual Lab (FEVL) focusing on the Fannie Mae project, which studies the Fixed Rate Mortgage (FRM) data released quarterly by Fannie Mae.
  • One portion of the project is a case study exploring how the FRM market behaved before, during and after the 2008 financial crisis.
  • The other portion is as an educational resource to help people develop their skills in both statistical and programming aspects involved with the analysis of similar data sets.
